NFC level 1 test bench and eMRTD (ePassport) test bench
Ensure interoperability
For contactless communication, interoperability is a significant factor. The readers and cards (including tags, mobile device, wearable device and ePassport) made by different manufacturers must interoperate each other without any problems.
Ensuring the interoperability of your products before you release them to the market is very important.
Testing against standards
There are some standards for the applications that use NFC technology.
ISO/IEC 14443 Type A and B are the basic standards for NFC that use 13.56MHz. ISO/IEC 10373-6 is its test specifications.
NFC Forum includes the technologies of ISO/IEC 14443 and FeliCa. NFC Forum has certification program.
eMRTD including ePassport must comply with ISO/IEC 18745-2 (ICAO) and specifications defined by ICAO.
Along with the application, in order to ensure the interoperability, testing your product(s) against required standards before you release them to the market is essential.
